OshBites is a Canadian company based in Toronto, who works importing and manufacturing a Brasilian Products for the Canadian food market.
My role was to create the brand, pack design and photographic direction. The problem was to bring the Brazilian essence with elements that represented the origin, quality and values of the product.
The brand is composed of several Brazilian elements and, mainly, by the particular signals of the places and people that used and consumed the tapioca.
It Is a representation of the old Cordel literature typography of the Northeastern people where the consumption of tapioca is inserted almost daily in their diet.
The applied pattern came from of the Pataxos indigenous tribe body paint. These are female symbols located in women's arms, and the draw means Balance, love and protection. This tribe was the first inhabitants of Brazil and that at the time of the discovery and colonization of the country there were already records about the consumption of tapioca by the Indians.
The green represents the origin of the product comes from, which initially came from the forests, the brown represents the roots, the earth, the ground, the country Brazil and the yellow is the value and the benefits that the product offers and the variety of recipes in which it can be used.
